Fluidity, Digital self portrait, chemigrams, animation, 2022
Fluidity is a visual representation of my relationship with gender, identity, and self-expression, Being a part of the trans community often comes with a complicated relationship with gender and identity.
As someone who identifies as being gender fluid, I utilize the idea of removing parts of my body I have the most complicated relationship in terms of gender expression and identity. The chemigrams pass through these parts that I have removed to represent a sense of gender euphoria that comes with this process.
Overall, I hope the audience will be able to view this piece and come to understand what it feels like to have a complicated relationship with the body and identity. This is an on-going series that will eventually have a large range of people who also experience this.
